About Me

Adriana Sanford is a Chilean American lawyer. She has multiple law degrees, including a dual LL.M. in Taxation and International & Comparative Law from Georgetown University Law Center and a J.D. from Notre Dame Law School, where she attended the yearlong Concannon Program of International Law in London. Sanford is fluent in English, Spanish, French, and Portuguese, and has working knowledge of Italian. In 2019, she received the CSWY Cybersecurity Woman Law & Privacy Professional of the Year Award. Sanford has both top-tier international law firm and in-house legal experience, including roles as Assistant General Counsel at a financial institution and Regional Latin American Counsel for a Fortune 10 company. She also has experience as external counsel to US and foreign companies in various industries, including agricultural, seafood, winery, construction, security, and manufacturing sectors. 

Additionally, Sanford has extensive experience as a keynote speaker, having delivered over 150 speeches, and has been a thought leader with the American Program Bureau for approximately eight years. She delivered the keynote addresses at the Association of Corporate Counsel's 19th Annual SuperConference in Chicago, ISACA's Latin America Computer Audit Control and Security Conference in Mexico City, and events hosted by the prominent think tank CIEPLAN in Chile. Furthermore, as a professor in top-tier business schools, Sanford has taught law, privacy, and management courses to over 7,000 students. She currently serves as an Adjunct Professor and Senior Fellow at Claremont Graduate University.

Sanford was featured in “Women in Security: Changing the Face of Technology and Innovation,” which is part of The Springer Women in Engineering and Science book series.  She has co-authored two books on business ethics, cybersecurity, and global threats. The books, Business Ethics: A Guide to Surviving Storms, Challenges, & Ethical Risks and Ética Empresarial, were made available through the ISACA bookstore and were adopted by the Institute for Supply Management. Sanford also serves on several charitable boards and currently serves as Executive Director of ISSA-Los Angeles and as the incoming Executive Director of The Challenge Initiative at UCLA. Sanford previously served as a delegate to the APEC CEO Summit in Chile and as an advisor to the World Economic Forum.
